Thomas Holmes

Holmes, Thomas O.,56, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Dayton VA Hospice at the VA Medical Center, Dayton, OH.
He was born in Waynesville, OH on August 22, 1953 to Thomas O. (who preceded him in death in December 1997) and Wanda (Marine) Holmes. He is also survived by his older sisters Lasandra (James) Jones, Dee Ann (Charles) Bishop, and Judy (William) Durham along with many nieces and nephews.
He served in the U. S. Navy from December 1979 to January 1988. He received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/3 Stars; Navy Expeditionary Medal; Armed Forces Expenditionary; and Good Conduct Award. He served on the U.S.S. Claude V. Ricketts (DDG 5), a Guided Missile Destroyer.
A private family ceremony will take place on November 5, 2009 at the Dayton National Cemetery.
