Thomas Ray Hill, age 74, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Hill and Phyllis Hill-Krull; and his most cherished best friend "Hogan Hill". He is survived by his loving wife, Anne; sisters; Becky Hill and Linda Greer (Bill), nephew Dylan Greer, and all his other family members who loved him dearly.
Tom had a successful career in the Food Service industry for 30 years. He owned and operated Hill Catering in Dayton and Apple Hill Banquet Center in Xenia, OH.
He was an avid golfer and member of NCR and Walnut Grove Country Clubs. One of Tom's greatest memories was being able to attend the 2004 Masters Tournament. He said "if there is a place that is closest to heaven on earth, it was at Augusta."
Tom was also a talented musician. He played in local bands and later in life, performed as a solo act, which was highlighted by an Elvis impersonation show. Tom loved "hosting a party" and especially entertaining his many friends and family who always showed up to support him and listen to him play.
Tom was a 1966 graduate of Miamisburg High School and a graduate of UEI in Louisville, KY.
Tom fought his battle with MDS privately; striving every day to get well and strong enough to play golf again. As that was not to be, before his death, he said "he was going to a place where the music never stops and the fairways are always green". Tom was loved by so many and will be deeply missed and remembered always by his many friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 5 pm at American Legion Post 598 (5900 Kentshire Drive, Kettering, OH 45440).
Donations may be made to the Pines Pet Cemetery Beautification Fund, 64 Riley Wills Rd, Lebanon, OH 45036 in memory of Tom and Hogan Hill or to Hospice of Dayton.
