Thomas M. Gerlach 'Tom", age 71 of Union, OH passed away October 30 2021. He was born on April 29, 1950 in Dayton to the late Robert and Evelyn Gerlach. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Joyce.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Hoffman; cousins, Larry Munier, Doug Munier and Charlene Gass; neighbors, Santana and Zachary Belcher; close friend, Sue Krach-Gosser and many extended family and dear friends.
Tom proudly attended and graduated from Alter High School in 1968. After high school, Tom served in the U.S. Air Force for over 13 years and completed a tour during the Vietnam War. He volunteered and was a member of VFWA, MOCA and the ALA. In his free time, Tom would visit with hospitalized veterans to swap stories and give them encouragement. Tom was a huge Dayton Dragons fan and loved to travel on cruises.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Parish, (6696 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449). Interment with military honors will follow at Dayton National Cemetery at 1 PM.
