GARVEY, Thomas, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Garvey; son, Timothy Garvey, and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Spencer (Garvey), Thomas (Kelly) Garvey, Joseph (Karen) Garvey, and Michael Garvey; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, James Garvey and Patricia Wells, as well as a host of other family members and friends.
He served in WWII in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division. He was also a longtime member of the VFW Post 9927, American Legion, and honorary Mayor of Stillwater Beach Campgrounds.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Valley View Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Children's Medical Center.
