Detamore, Thomas C. "Tom,"41, of Kettering, passed away in his wife's arms early Thursday morning June 28, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital after a very brief battle with metastatic cancer.
He was born in Kettering on March 3, 1977 to the late Richard A. Detamore and Pamela J. (Pickle) Detamore. He married the love of his life, Andrea Reneé (Reeves) Detamore on September 25, 2011 at Kettering Polen Farm. Tom was a 1995 graduate of Fairmont High School and completed his education with an Associate degree in Computer Engineering from ITT Tech in 2004.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, "funcle" and an endeared friend to many. He was a true family man and loved spending time with loved ones and friends. Tom won the affection of all that knew him through his kindness, uplifting spirit and his wonderful sense of humor. As it was said best by his father-in-law, "To know Tom, is to love Tom."
In addition to his wonderful wife Andrea, Tom is survived by his son, Jacob; step-son, Caleb; step-daughter, Katelyn; mother, Pamela; brother, Mathias; sister, Jessica "George" and her husband, Jeff; his in-laws, Alan and his wife, Kim; the late Barb and her husband, Mike; sister-in-law, Amanda and her husband, Andy; brothers-in-law, Derek and his wife, Lissa, and Jeremy and his wife, Yolly; grandparents, Nan and Pap; five nephews, Quentin, Kyndrik, Henley, Blake and Tate; three nieces, Olivia, Avary, Luci; and baby bean (on the way); and his best friend, Eric Shepard, among numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will start at 5:30pm in the Gazebo of Kettering Polen Farm, 5099 Bigger Road, and a Celebration of Tom's life will be held in the Barn directly following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tom's family for financial support during this difficult transition. An online fundraiser has been set up at www.gofundme.com/tom-detamore-family-relief.
