Thomas H. Carter Jr., age 60 of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly after a long illness on July 2, 2016 at Kettering Medical Center.
He was born on December 4, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Thomas and Dollie (Melton) Carter.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife and soul-mate Darlene Carter; sisters, Rosella (Bob) Lux, Joyce Pace; brother, Kenneth Begley; nephews, Bobby (Carol) Lux, Matthew Scott Smith, Eddie Pace; great niece, Reba Lindsey Woods and great-nephew, Xavier Woods.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Christina (Antonio) Saldana; son, Justin Carter; four sisters, Reba Sue Robinson, Peggy (John) Deak, Geri (Gary) Johns, Evelyn Faye (Richard) Parr; brother, John (Rose) Carter; three grandchildren, Bobby (Brehanna) Crutchfield, Brianna Saldana, Christopher Saldana; great grandson, Easton Crutchfield; in-laws, John and Mollie Tebalt; sister-in-law, Donna (Steve) Gaston; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was an electrician at General Motors Moraine Truck and Bus Plant and retired in 2008. He was also a skilled trades chairman and then president of Local Union CWA IUE 798.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 1 pm, also at the funeral home, with Pastor David Faile. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
