Thomas Charles "Tom" Bliss, age 89, of Riverside, passed away on December 17, 2022. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on July 29, 1933, the son of the late Charles and Edith Bliss.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Bliss; and his sister, Barbara Lewis.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Marcia (Nick) Tarkany; grandchildren, Nicholas Tarkany and Jr., Ben (Kate) Tarkany; great grandchildren, Camden, Kenzie and Brighton; sister, Martha Glenn; his constant companion, his dog Queenie; and many other family and friends.
He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Tom retired from Madison County, OH, as an Electrical Inspector. He was a member of the Milton Athletic Club and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 9927. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, building RC Aircraft, participating with the Honor Flight of Dayton, spending time with his family and was also very involved with the Ohio Korean War Memorial group.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery, Kettering.
