Thomas Owen Biggs, Jr., age 53, was lifted up into God's arms by angels on November 8, 2016 at 1:20pm. The world was Thomas' oyster. He ran 8 marathons, including the New York Marathon one year after his stem cell transplant. He skied, played guitar, scuba dived, biked, "all of it". He was fortunate to work as a medical technologist at Good Samaritan Hospital lab. His coworkers supported him during his difficult and courageous journey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Biggs, Sr.
He will be sorely missed by his wife, Christina Biggs; mother, Pat Biggs; sister, Amy (Art) Greenlee; brother in law, David Means; sister in law, Julie Cannaday; and aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great nieces, cousins, friends, and his pet, Joey Biggs.
Thank you to all of Tom's doctors, especially Dr. Howard Gross, Dr. William Blum, Dr. Maneesh Mehan, and Tom Mickle CNP. Thank you to Good Samaritan Hospital staff, James Cancer Hospital staff and the Hospice of Dayton staff. You gave Chris and Thomas Biggs the gift of time to be together and love each other.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where services will begin at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 4370 Glendale Milford Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
