Thomas Robert Akehurst

Thomas Robert Akehurst, age 79, of Xenia, passed away October 26, 2023. Thomas was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 3, 1944 to the late Robert and Eleanor Akehurst.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Toni Akehurst; children, Karen (Keith) Moore, Katy (Mitch) Bird and Robert T. (Elaine) Akehurst; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Gavin, Rebecca, Grace, Mitchell, Jacob and Isaac; great-grandchildren, Liam and Katie; brothers, Rick Akehurst, Jerry Akehurst and Jeff Akehurst; sister, Mary Eichold.
Thomas retired from New Sebina Industries after 10 years. He enjoyed working with everyone. In his free time, he enjoyed watching TV and being on his computer. Thomas was devoted to his children and grandchildren and loved to be around his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am-12:00pm on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 12:00pm. Thomas will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
