Theresa Marie Henry, 84, was called up to bat in the big leagues of Heaven on July 1, 2015 in Xenia, Ohio where she lived most of her life. She was born and came to Clarence and Esther Seeman in 1930 and spent her early life in Franklin Ohio. She graduated from Franklin High school as a member of the class of 1948. Very early on, as a child, she met Donald Henry and they remained close friends until the beginning of their 63 year marriage on February 25, 1952. Over the next 18 years, she gave birth to seven children.
She was an accomplished pianist and singer. She became a member of the Gem City Chapter of the Sweet Adeline's International choir in Dayton, Ohio, dedicated to, and advancing the musical art of competitive a cappella singing and barbershop harmonies. She was a member when Gem City won the 2rd of their 5 International SAI world Championships in 1977, singing for the Top Honors in London, England, beating Ramapo Valley of Saddle River New Jersey by 58 points.
She was an avid Cincinnati Bengals & Reds fan and loved her National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes football team. She taught all 4 of her boys how to love and nourish relationships. Her life's advice to her 3 girls was "you can be anything you want to be if you just set your mind to it." Her motto was "Love and be loved every day!"
Later in Life, she returned to school and received her degree as a Certified Medical Assistant from Sawyer College in Centerville. She worked many years dividing her services between Dr. Sam Maimon and Dr. Benjamin Schuster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Esther Seeman and her eldest son Michael (Vickie) Henry in 2008.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald E. Henry; Cindy (Michael) Belcher of El Paso, TX; Patrick (Mary) Henry of Springfield, OH; Timothy (Debbie) Henry of Martinsville, OH; Amy (Michael) Scheld of Tampa, FL; Sean (Connie) Henry of Jamestown, OH; and Erin (Robert Lowe) Henry of Beavercreek, OH; 19 Grandchildren and 19 Great- Grandchildren.
On Monday July 6, 2015, a celebration of Theresa's life will begin at noon and continue till 3pm in an Open House setting for family and friends at The Legacy Community Room, 1201 Livingston Lane, Xenia, OH 45385.
