Theresa "Terri" Ann Furnas passed away December 24th, 2018 in Greenfield, Ohio. Terri was born on April 3rd, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio. She is survived by her mother and step-father Donna and William Prendergast; her children: Michael and wife Valerie, Marjorie "Maggie" and husband Viviano, and David and wife Amanda; her 7 grandchildren: Seth, Kathryn, Max, Nora, Angel, Larkin, and Quinn; and her sisters Michelle, Roberta, Catherine, and brother Patrick, Jr. Terri is preceded in death by her father Patrick Young, Sr.
After raising children and supporting the family farm Terri completed her Bachelor's degree in education from Wilmington College and went on to complete her Master's in education from Wright State University. Terri taught 8th grade science at Hamersville Middle School for more than 10 years, where she continued to teach until her passing. In addition to being a devoted mother and passionate educator, Terri was a dedicated member of the Farm Bureau Association, member of Southern Ohio Kayaking Association, and holistic Quaker with the Miami Meeting of Friends. Terri loved the great outdoors, enjoyed a wide array of music, read avidly, was a world traveler, and lover of many animals over her lifetime (especially her horse, Cody).
Services for Terri will be held at the Miami Meeting of Friends "White Brick" 169 S 4th St., Waynesville, OH 45068 on Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the "Red Brick" across the street. Terri's students were very important to her. As she was a true advocate, her children are accepting direct donations in lieu of flowers to support a scholarship for students in need at Hamersville Public Schools.
