Thelma Mae Slonaker

SLONAKER, Thelma Mae (nee: Bowers), 89 of Kettering, passed away on October 21, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on June 5, 1933 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter to the late Thomas and Mae Bowers.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. Slonaker, Sr. They were married 52 years.

Thelma is survived by her 4 children, her sons, Timothy, Terry and Lloyd, Jr. and her daughter Trina, 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Thomas, Jamie, Diane, Jayson, Patrick, Jeffery, Jr., Gerald, Kenyatta, Kelly and Klyde; multiple step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Thelma is also survived by numerous family and friends.

She graduated from Kiser High School in 1951. Thelma worked in the Kettering City Schools for 12 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and quilting. The most important thing to Thelma was her family. Thelma is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm - 1:00pm on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering Chapel; 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45439.

Graveside service will be held in Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Avenue; Dayton, Ohio at 1:30 PM. Thelma's final resting place will be beside her beloved husband.
