Thelma Rose, 85, of Denver, CO, formerly of Kettering, passed away October 13, 2015.

She was born June 12, 1930 in Gatliff, Kentucky, the daughter of Evert and Clara (Siler) Dotson.

On September 9, 1950, she married Sherman Rose.

Thelma worked for Dayton Daily News as a Print/Layout Specialist for 21 years, retiring in 1989.

Thelma loved to shop 'til she dropped. She also loved to collect Fenton glassware and jewelry. Above all, Thelma loved her family, enjoying every minute she spent with them. When her husband, Sherman, and daughter, Nancy passed away, she missed them terribly and spoke of them often.

Thelma is survived by Daughter, Brenda R. (Robert) Heavill of Denver, CO.

She is preceded in death by Husband, Sherman Rose; Daughter, Nancy D. Rose; half-sister, Shelby Jean Nicholas; Father, Evert Dotson and Mother, Clara Chandler.

Visitation will be 9:30AM - 11:30AM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South), 3940 S. Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Graveside service will follow at 12:00PM on Wednesday at David Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support the hospice program at the Kindred Foundation, 680 South Fourth Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
