MATHEWS, Thelma L. age 89,went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Edward on March 30, 2011.
She is preceded in death by her six siblings. She is survived by her son, Larry (Sue) Mathews; grandchildren, Laura (Neil) Wells, Justin (Stephanie) Mathews, Cheryl Mathews, and Allison (Ben) Jennings; great-grandson, Colton Jennings; and many nieces and nephews.
Since 1958 Thelma had been a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she participated in the church choir and the Super Seniors Group. She also loved cooking, baking, sewing, and especially quilting.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 5:30 pm until the time of service at 6:30 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1501 E. Third Street. Interment at Dayton National Cemetery will be held Monday, April 11, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
