Thelma Irene Sparkman

Sparkman, Thelma I. (Sargent), age 76 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born June 22, 1932 in Frenchburg, KY, the daughter of Johnny Russell and Lula Alice (Ratliff) Sargent. She worked for 14 years at Dayton Wire. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Delmer Sargent; and her sister, Katherine Sargent. Survivors include her husband, Artie G. Sparkman; children, Betty K. (Larry) McLenon, Brenda K. (Scott) Arrand, Marty (Paula) Dye, and Artie Dale Dye Sparkman; grandchildren, Travis & Tina, Brandi & Marti, Dusty, Brenna & Deven; 4 great grandchildren; special nephew, Johnny Russell Sargent; 1 great niece; and many wonderful brothers and sisters-in-law. She was loved by all and will be missed. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
