Thelma Derickson Himes

Thelma Derickson Himes, age 83 of Beavercreek, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's. She was born November 9, 1939 in Canoe, Kentucky the daughter of the late Oscar and Laura Derickson.
Thelma graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1958 and was instrumental in the reunion committee for many years. She wore many hats including, real estate; but most of all she loved to plan family vacations, organize parties and be an all around planner for any occasion. She also loved to play tennis. In more recent years, she enjoyed researching genealogy and was the foremost expert on it for her family. Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandma who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Mike Collins.
Thelma is survived by her husband of 36 years, Harley; daughters, Cheryl (Todd) Mendenhall and Melissa (Randy) Pease; grandchildren, Brittany (Brian) Haley, Olivia (Tyler Malorni) Shirley, Austin Pease and Karley Jo Pease; great grandchildren, Harper and Tanner Haley; sister, Sharon (Dean) Silvers; niece, Lisa Bechtold; and nephew Derrick Silvers.
A graveside service will be held on Monday July 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.
