HENDERSON-SUCH, Thelma E. 91, of Dayton passed away Wednesday February 22, 2011. She was born in Lawrenceburg, IN to the late Stanley and Alice Cotton. Thelma graduated from Lawrenceburg High School. She then spent the rest of her life in Dayton and Florida. She also graduated form Helene Slack School of Cosmetology and later worked for Rikes. Thelma enjoyed dancing, cards, family and friends, and quilting with the Quilters at Central Christian Church where she was a longtime member.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 45 years, Joseph Such. Thelma is survived by her husband Courtland Henderson; daughters Joanne (Jim) Reichert, of West Carrollton and Connie (Jim) Schwanengel, of Marysville, TN; Stepdaughter Sue (Bob) Vogel, of Beavercreek; stepsons David (Betty)Henderson, of Punta of Gorda, FL and Mark (Sandy) Henderson of Kokomo, IN; 8 Grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Delores Gerlach, of Lawrenceburg, In; brother Cecil Cotton, of Corpus Christi, TX; and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton and caregiver Jerri Gamble for all their wonderful care.
Family will receive friends from 10:00- 11:00AM Monday, February 28, 2011 at Newcomer funeral home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral services to follow at 11:00AM, with Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow services at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
