Thelma Margaret (Allison) Essick was born July 20, 1927 in Hemphill, West Virginia. She graduated high school in West Virginia in 1945 and moved to Dayton, Ohio as a young lady in 1947.
Mom was a faithful member of Bethesda Temple for more than 49 years. She received her Registered Nurses (RN) Associates Degree from Sinclair College in 1975. She was a RN for 37 years, and worked at the Veteran's Administration and Friendship Village. She finally retired at 80 years old. Mom was an excellent mother that nurtured and raised her sons in the fear of the Lord. We were richly blessed to be her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Frank and Ethel Allison), brothers (Alfred, William, Edward), her sister (Ethel) and her husband (Henry). She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Henry II (Deborah) and Gregory (Vanita); four grandchildren, Camille, Brandon, Gregory and Shanan; two great-grandchildren (Henry Branden and Azreail), and her nephew Kevin Allison and a host of friends.
