Thelma Elizabeth Emmons, 57, of Dayton, passed away April 5, 2016. Thelma was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 22, 1959 to the late Harry and Eileen Shafer.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. She drove an ice cream truck for over 25 years and was loved by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Mondabaugh, Fred Mondabaugh, Otis Mondabaugh; son, Dennis Nelson and her sister, Lena Bowers.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Richard Emmons; sons, Johnny Shafer, Richard Corey; daughters, Lisa (Christopher) Matheny, Vanessa Edgerton, Christina Emmons; grandchildren, Johnny Jr., Jason, Christopher Jr.; brother, John (Terri) Shafer, Richard (Judi) Dubois; and several other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 11:30 am-1:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. Funeral Service will follow at 1:30pm.
