Thelma Jean Abney

Thelma Jean Abney, age 89, of Bellbrook, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at Trinity of Beavercreek, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on February 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Ernest and Ova Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donelly Abney; her parents; her son, Larry Abney; and her siblings.

Thelma is survived by her 3 children, including son, Donald (Lisa) Abney; daughter in law Donna Abney; grandchildren, Chris (Cindy) Henn, Lisa (Chet) Prather, Dawn (Josh Young) Abney; several grandchildren; great grandchildren, Kayleigh (Skyler) Purdom, Nathan (Kammy) Prather, Tyler Abney, Ethan (Desiree) Prather and several other great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. 

Thelma worked hard at raising her family. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and cooking. Thelma's family meant the world to her, especially her husband, Donelly. She would do anything for those she loved. Thelma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Thursday January 23, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am, with Steve Nickels officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
