Thalia Worrell Johnson

Thalia Worrell Johnson, age 93 of Kettering passed away Monday June 3, 2024 at Kettering Health Main Campus. She was born October 26, 1930 in Garrard County, Kentucky. She was the seventh child born to the late Millard and Lucy Johnson.  Thalia is survived by her three nephews, Jim (Susie) Todd, David (Sandy) Todd, Randall Johnson, two nieces, Vivian Roarty, Betty Curtis and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.  

She was a graduate of Fairview High School and the University of Dayton. Thalia had a remarkable career starting in 1959 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and then in Washington D.C. where she advanced to be the personnel Director to the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. Upon her retirement she received a letter from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff thanking her for her years of dedicated Federal Service in support of our Nation. During her long and distinguished career her special talents contributed immeasurably to our national security.  

Thalia was interested in Politics, American History, Genealogy and Antiques. She was a member of the Jamestown Chapter Virginia Society Colonial Dames XVII Century.  She loved to walk, take pilates, knit, and keep in touch with family and friends. Thalia will be deeply missed.

In honoring Thalia's memory her family and friends celebrate a life well lived. She leaves behind a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she Rest in Peace.
