Thaddeus "Ted" Konopinski, age 97 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 9, 2024. He was born October 5, 1926 in Boston Heights, Ohio son of the late Stanislaus and Marianna Konopinski.
Ted was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy Seaman during WW II. Ted was a huge Cleveland sports fan. He loved playing cards, horse racing, spending time at the race track with his friends, horseshoes, and spending time with his family. He retired after 25 years as a machinist at National Copper and Smelting CO. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Carol J. Konopinski; siblings, Marian (Albert) Helmick, Bertha "Reggie" (Walter) Senk, Irene Konopinski, Joseph (Dorothy) Konopinski, and Stanley (Audrey) Konopa; and brother-in-law, Louis Dominski.
He is survived by his daughters, Theresa (Fred) Aikens and Bobbi (Aaron) Letsky; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jazmine) Aikens, Rachael Aikens, Shannon Letsky, and Ashley Letsky; great grandchildren, Anayah and Mosiah Aikens; sister, Stella Dominski; as well as several other beloved family members.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Private burial services will take place at the convenience of the family.
