Terry Lee Stoner, age 71 of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020. He was born December 12, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert and Mary Stoner.
Terry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star awards. He worked at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from 1984-2000 and then at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Administration Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona until he retired in 2006. Terry was a patriot and believed he fought for our freedoms. He was instrumental in helping his brothers in arms seek care at the VA Medical Center.
He was a life-member of the DAV, VFW, AmVets and the American Legion. He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose.
A carpenter by trade, Terry liked to build things and work with his hands. He was a collector of many things, liked fishing, watching old cowboy movies, and enjoyed sitting on his deck watching the sun set and rise over the pond.
Terry will be missed by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Deanna; daughter, Lahela (Erik) Snyder; grandchildren, Maila and Eli Snyder; siblings, Robert "Tom" Stoner and Carla Rae (Bill) McNeil; and all of his brothers in arms.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Private burial to follow with full military honors at Dayton National Cemetery. The state of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks be worn in all public places.
