Terry Ozias, a beloved member of the Dayton community and esteemed owner of Dan's Steam Carpet Cleaning, passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on June 7, 1946, in Dayton, Terry lived a life rich in humor, kindness, and generosity, endeared by all who knew him.
Terry attended Belmont High School, from which he carried forward not only an education but also lifelong friendships and joyful memories. Throughout his life, he passionately engaged in various hobbies, including playing pool, fishing, boating, and tinkering with electronics, always showcasing his vibrant personality.
He is fondly remembered by his sister Elizabeth for a memorable trip to Daytona Beach, where a playful cat and mouse chase created lasting laughter among them. Phone calls with all his sisters were cherished moments, full of warmth, joy, and connection.
Terry leaves behind a devoted family, including his wife, Delores and daughter, Kim Karnes. He also embraced his role as a stepfather to Shawn (Micah) Brunello, Shane (Kim) Brunello, and Lawrence (Carrie) Brunello, as well as being a proud grandfather to Stephen (Emily) Newell and Stephanie Newell. Terry enjoyed a close bond with his sisters— Tina Beckett, Elizabeth Ozias, Kathy (Gerhard) Weber, and Claudia Hicks—and he had a loving network of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Richard Ozias, his sister, Patricia Wade, and his brother-in-law, Billy Hicks.
Terry Ozias will be forever remembered for his indomitable spirit, his unwavering support for family and friends, and a heart that always sought to bring joy to those around him. His legacy of laughter and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of all he touched.
