Terri Lynn Evans, 59, of Riverside, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2nd, 2024.
She leaves behind her husband of forty years, Jim; her four children, Joshua (Lyndsey), Caleb (Sara), Rachel (Micah), and Lydia; six grandchildren (Malachi, Hosea, Madelyn, Titus, Gabriel, and Nathan); her mother, Dianne; and extended family.
Terri was born on October 9, 1964 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania to William and Dianne (Mann) Baker. Because her father was a member of the US Air Force, she lived in many places across the country as a child. She met her husband Jim while they were both working at AuSable Valley Community Mental Health. They were married in Tawas City, Michigan in 1984.
Terri spent the majority of her adult life in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan where she homeschooled her four children. She supported every sporting event and activity in which her children participated and was a committed and involved member of Cornerstone Bible Church during her 30+ years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
In recent years, Terri became a full-time caretaker for her mother. This expedited her and Jim’s move to Ohio where they were closer to children and grandchildren, a blessing that she greatly enjoyed. Terri always loved to see her family and pour into the lives of others.
When able to take time for herself, Terri enjoyed watching hummingbirds on her bird feeders. She could never resist a “smidge” of ice cream and enjoyed relaxing with a true crime show. Through her marriage to Jim, she also became a fan of Michigan Football and would enjoy sitting around with the family while they watched the game.
However, it was Terri’s fierce and unwavering commitment to her faith and to her family that will be her lasting legacy. Her greatest passion in both her life and her death is that everyone might come “to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” (Ephesians 3:18).
Terri was laid to rest at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in a closed graveside service for immediate family. We rejoice that her faith has now become sight (2 Corinthians 5).
