Teresa Lynn Terry, a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished friend, was born on June 24, 1956, in Camp Pendleton, California. She departed this world on January 11, 2025, in Kettering, Ohio, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love and compassion.
Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to family, which she held as the cornerstone of her existence. Teresa's proudest accomplishments lie in the nurturing of her children, grandchildren and family for whom she poured her heart and soul into every moment spent together. Her children—Brittney Wood, Kennard Bailey (Elizabeth), and Stephen Wood—will forever carry the warmth of her love, as will her beloved grandchildren: Nevaeh, Kyra, Yuelona, and Nylah. Teresa also embraced many with open arms, honoring the bonds she formed with her honorary children: Larriona Graves, La'Shondra Graves, La'Rue Bailey, Logan Bailey, Lamont Bailey, and Tiffany Curry.
An individual of multifaceted nature, Teresa was known for her loving, caring, and generous spirit. While she may have had a hard shell that made her appear insistent and blunt, those fortunate enough to know her understood that beneath that exterior lay one of the biggest hearts one could encounter. Her tenacity, stubbornness and strength were matched only by her genuine desire to help and uplift those around her.
Driven by a desire to serve others, Teresa began her career as a housekeeper before achieving a medical assistant certificate. Her professional journey took her to esteemed institutions such as St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dayton Heart Hospital, and ultimately culminated in her retirement from Good Samaritan Hospital after many years of dedicated service.
A graduate of Miamisburg High School, Teresa also attended Miami Jacobs College, where she pursued her passion for knowledge and growth. Her canvas extended beyond the confines of her professional life; she found solace and satisfaction in various hobbies, including cooking, gardening, and crafting. An ardent enthusiast of the great outdoors, Teresa delighted in staying busy and shared her love of adventure by serving as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.
Friends and family alike will remember Teresa not only for her countless contributions to their lives but also for her vibrant personality and infectious spirit. Her bond with her best friends, Tammara McLemore and Mary Carpantier, were particularly valued, a testament to her ability to cultivate meaningful connections throughout her lifetime.
