Ted Monroe Felkley, 73, of Dayton, passed away on June 18, 2019 peacefully under the care of
Heartland Hospice.
Born on December 4, 1945 to Roy and Delores (Rogan) Felkley in Dayton, Ohio. Ted was a US
Marine Corps Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a football player in high school,
graduating from Fairmont West in 1963.
From a young age, Ted loved boating. He grew up spending summers at his family cottage at
Lake Erie. Later in life he was able to share his love for boating with his family. There were
many summer days getting pulled behind the boat on the tube. He loved to be pulled outside of
the wake; taking wild rides up on one side of the tube. Ted was light- hearted and jovial when
he was up at the cottage, and this is how we will all remember him.
Ted is survived by his daughter Katie Pfarrer-Ambrose; sister, Pamela Manzo (Susan); nieces,
Jody Manzo (children, Caleb and Braden) and Kimberly Crisp (children, Amanda, Micheal,
Alayna, and Christina) and many cousins that have spread out over the years. A very special
thankyou to his neighbor, Richard Keith for the unwavering kindness and care he showed both
Ted and Donna this past year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Delores Felkley; and wife of 19 years,
Donna (Ivey). It was obvious to family and friends when Ted and Donna met, how much they
meant to one another. They seemed to be inseparable. This proved true when Ted followed
Donna into the next life not three months after she passed. They both loved being out in the
sun, enjoying the lake. Family would like to believe that they are out on the lake together again.
Many many thanks to the caring nursing staff at Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community and
Heartland Hospice; you helped Ted on his journey into peace.
A graveside service will be held in honor of both Ted and Donna on July 1st at 1pm at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, Ohio.
