Beachdell, Ted Steiger (74), a native Daytonian and Kettering resident of 50+ years, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2017, at Hospice of Butler/Warren Counties, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and was survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Delores A. Beachdell, daughter Teri L. Beachdell, and granddaughter Whitney A. Stanley. Additionally, he is survived by all five of his siblings: sister Roberta E. (Roben) Taylor of Kettering, sister Carol A. Cain of San Antonio, TX, brother Robert (Bob/Mick) M. Beachdell, Jr of Dayton, brother Jon L. Beachdell (Marianna) of Ft. Lauderdale FL, and brother Brad M. Beachdell (Rita) of Wash. Twp, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen M. Beachdell and father Robert M. Beachdell, Sr. Ted was a 1962 graduate of Patterson Co-op High School. He tremendously enjoyed his last 20 years of employment while working as an Industrial Engineer at General Engine Products in Franklin, and remained a full-time employee there up until his cancer was discovered in October, 2016. His family for certain, and likely all who knew him, will remember him for his meticulous nature and quick-witted humor, which he maintained to the bitter end. On behalf of both Ted and his family, a sincere thanks is hereby extended to his friends and co-workers who visited to help make his final days precious ones. A special thanks also goes out to Dr. Veronica Camacho, as well as her colleagues, associates and staff, who all helped to administer palliative care, thereby minimizing the pain and suffering that often accompany this terrible disease. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 4-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, where services will follow on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Butler/Warren Counties.
