Teck Kwan Kim, 91 years old, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Dayton Hospice. He was born on January 27, 1930 in Sinuiju, Korea to YongHwan Kim and HyeSun Hong. His wife, Keenam Kim, preceded his death in 2012. They were married for 56 years.
Mr. Kim is survived by his four children, the eldest daughter Mihyun Hwang and her husband JongSup Hwang followed by daughter Miae Thomas and her husband Urs Thomas, son Namhyung Kim and his wife YoungMi Kim, son Namhoon Kim and his wife Minjeong Kim. Additionally, he is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Chrystal Gundersen and her husband Eric Gundersen, Esther Simmons and her husband Camron Simmons, Jane Hwang, Amy Hwang, Uriel Kim, Adriel Kim, Daniel Kim, and Emily Kim. He is also survived by three great granddaughters, Grace Gundersen, Avery Gundersen and Selah Gundersen. Mr. Kim was a mechanically gifted pharmacist and dedicated husband and father.
In his free time, he enjoyed tending to his garden and experimenting with healthy alternatives to traditional baked treats. A man of few words and many actions, Teck Kwan Kim demonstrated love and guidance through his relentless sacrifice over the years. His legacy of hard work, grit, and perseverance will live on in the hearts and minds of his many loved ones. We look forward to the day when we will all be restored in glory worshipping our Heavenly Father together.
The visitation will be held at 4 PM to 6 PM in the evening of Sunday, July, 18th, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd) with the Viewing Service at 6 PM. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, July 19, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Song officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
