Tamela L. Gehres

November 22, 1970 — April 19, 2022

Tamela Lynn Walker Gehres, age 51 of Centerville. Ohio, passed away on April 19th, 2022. Tamela, "Tami," was born on November 22nd, 1970 in Lexington, Kentucky to parents Thomas and Nancy Walker. Tami is survived by her husband of 21 years, Clint Gehres, their son Caleb (Cheyenne) and her granddaughter Juniper Gehres. She is also survived by her older sister Tania Barker (Randy), younger brother Matthew Walker, sister-in-law Patti (Steve) Cramer, and numerous nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. Along with all those in relation to her, she was blessed to have 3 special little girls that deemed her as their "Yai-Yai."

Tami was someone who many people trusted and sought out to teach and support their children, in her career and in her personal life. When Tami wasn't working as a special needs teacher as West Carrollton Middle School, helping children and enriching their lives, she would spend summers at Lake Cumberland, spending time with friends and family, soaking up the summer sun, as well as traveling, particularly anywhere that was warm and near the ocean and beaches. Not only did Tami enjoy traveling, she enjoyed reading and boating for hours on end.

Yes, Tami had a large family who loved her dearly, but she was also loved by many in the community and by friends whom she gained in her life. People would gravitate towards Tami because of her bright smile and her charisma. Tami did not know a stranger and she would speak her mind no matter what the consequence was. If you only met Tami once, you were lucky to have had that moment that is how special she was in this life. When people would speak about her, it was about how wonderful she was, as a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a teacher, and a friend.

In her final days, she expressed many times that she did not fear death, despite how early it entered her life. She was a person of conviction that believed she would go to heaven when her time in this world was done. She was fearless, in childhood and in her adulthood, right down to her last breath. If there was any part of her that she would want people to remember, it was that.

Tami will be missed by many, that is certain, but she would never want them to suffer or feel the pain of her death. She would want those who were in her life to smile at the memories they had with her and take the happiness and joy from those moments and carry on in life. For she is no longer in pain, she is safe in God's arms and in his kingdom.
