Talitha A. Proffit

Talitha A. Proffit, age 91, of Moraine, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2016 . She was born January 24, 1925 in Estill County, Kentucky, the daughter of Luther and Vida (Wilson) Lunsford.

She is survived by siblings, Corena Dunwoodie, Burnett (Sally) Hoover, Daniel Hoover, and John (Joyce) Hoover. Also survived by her children, Gladys Estes-Gregg, Randy Estes, Kay (Al) Wells, Pete (Janet) Proffit, Vida Anna (Don) Maxwell, Charlotte (Paul) Dubé.

She was preceded in death by sons Roger Estes and Bruce Estes and husband, Claude Proffit. She was also preceded in death by her sweetie, Tom Gillum; who was the love of her life and made her twilight years very joyful.

Talitha was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved growing and sharing flowers and vegetables. Fishing was a special passion of hers that she shared with her grandchildren. She always loved hearing from and visiting with her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as the many special friends and family who loved and supported her in her final years.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439. Private interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. Talitha's family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
