T. Leon Allen

T. Leon Allen, 84, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Spring Hills Singing Woods Nursing Home. Leon was born on August 2, 1934 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
He graduated from S.A. Jones High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). After serving four years in the USMC, he earned the rank of Sergeant and served as First Sergeant of his Company. He received an honorable discharge from the USMC after four years and two months later, enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF). He honorably served for sixteen years and retired after a total of twenty years active military service which spanned several generations to include both World War I and World War II, the Cuban Crisis, the Korean War, and Vietnam.
Mr. Allen was a Program Analyst assigned to the Program Control Division, Plans and Project Management Branch, in the Material Systems Center, WPAFB, OH. He retired from the Federal Government with a total of 41 years, 11 months, and 28 days of combined military and civilian service.
He attended the University of Nebraska and Antioch University where his major fields of study included Computer Science, Psychology, Mathematics, and Sociology.
Mr. Allen was a Christian, loved God and loved himself.
He is survived by his daughter, Mia Allen; two sons, Michael and Jerry; and sister, Wanda (Lacey) Adams.
Family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial at 2:30 p.m. at Dayton National Cemetery.
