Susan E. Wilson, age 69, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. Born in Göppingen, Germany on September 11, 1955, she came to the United States at the tender age of two, where she would build a beautiful life filled with love and family.
Susan radiated a brilliance in mind and in her always stunning presence. Her boundless enthusiasm for life was magnetic. When she became passionate about something, her eyes would light up with a spark that could inspire an energy in everyone around her. Her love and joy in living life weren't just qualities she possessed—they were gifts she shared generously with us all. She had an intuitive sense for when you were down and needed lifting up and knew exactly what to say to restore your hope and perspective. The joy she brought to our lives cannot be measured, and the space she leaves behind will never be filled. What we will miss most about her is the courage and fearless way she embraced every moment. She taught us all to appreciate life, have fun, live life to its fullest and find beauty in life every day.
Susan leaves behind her devoted husband Rick, and her loving children: Tina (Todd Spicer), and Robb (Shannon). She joins her son Ric, who preceded her in death. Her warmth and kindness will forever be cherished by her sisters Hilde Schaefer and Sylvia Ellert; brothers-in-law Don Willson and Jimmy Wilson; and her nieces and nephews: Trisha (Steve) Falcone, Dave (Kim) Schaefer, Lisa (Aaron) Davis, Monika (Larry) Harris, Jessica (Charles) Mueller, along with many close cousins and dear friends who were touched by her generous spirit.
Susan is reunited in heaven with her parents, Paul and Caroline Schaefer; her brother, Paul Schaefer, her in-laws, Bob and Ruth Wilson, brothers-in-law Lee Daulton and Mark Ellert, and nephews Mike Heid and Paul Schaefer II, who welcomed her with open arms.
Though she has left us, Susan's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched. Her laughter will echo in our memories, her wisdom will continue to guide us, and her love will forever remain in our hearts. In every sunset we admire, every moment of joy we share, and every act of kindness we extend to others, Susan's spirit will be there. She will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten, as we carry forward the beautiful lessons, she taught us about embracing life with courage, grace, and love.
The family will not be holding a public memorial service. A celebration of Susan's life will be held at a later date.
