Susan Elizabeth Lorton, age 72, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021. She was born September 5, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Richard F. and Harriet K. (Heiden) Gabori. Susan graduated from Centerville High School and went on to further her education at Wright State University where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business in 1972. Susan graduated Magna Cum Laude, was recognized as the Outstanding Business Student of the Year, and was the first woman to receive the Mark Schram Award.
Susan's career started as Darke County Assistant Prosecutor in 1974, then she became the Vice President of Human Resources at the Airfoil Division of Textron. She finished her career at Oakland Community College in Michigan where she was the Manager of Human Resources.
After her retirement, Susan was a Personal Trainer and also taught Aerobics, Pilates and Zumba classes. She was an avid hiker, skier and kayaker.
Susan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas L. Lorton, whom she married on July 3, 1969, along with her sister, Patricia A. (Gabori) Heiden; son, Christopher S. Lorton; daughter-in-law Christina D. Lorton; grandson, Riley O. Lorton; and granddaughter, Elsie M. Lorton..
