Susan Ann (Gould) Jones

Susan Ann Jones (Gould), age 70 of Bellbrook, Ohio died October 9th after a lengthy illness.

Sue was born October 24, 1951, in Dayton to the late George and Betty (Moyer) Gould, Survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years James Jones. In addition, she is survived by her sister and almost constant caregiver for the past two years Linda Gould, brother Mike (Alice), son Ryan (Heath), daughter Jill (Mike) Wagner, her beautiful and talented granddaughters Madeline (Kyle) and Emily Wagner and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends and neighbors that loved her.

Sue was a 1969 graduate of Bellbrook High School and could light up a room with her beautiful smile, bright blue eyes, and sweet energy. She was kind to everyone she met. She loved and excelled at things that required order, precision, and beauty. Wherever she had influence, those talents were used. Whether it was sewing baton or dance costumes, or a school newsletter perfectly typed, she eagerly put her gifts to use for those she loved. More than anything, she loved her family and watching her granddaughters grow up. Even toward the end of her life, nothing brought her more joy than attending dance recitals and competitions where she was affectionately known as Grandma Sue.

When first diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, her goal was to survive that first summer. With the help of her oncologist Dr. Riggs, her surgeons and many caregivers at Kettering hospital and some miraculous new cancer treatments, she had the gift of four and half more years of life. Although the last few years were filled with countless doctors' appointments, treatments, trips to the emergency room, and sleepless nights, her spirit and love for her family and friends outweighed her suffering and kept her going to the very end. Through it all, her sweetheart Jim was by her side and supported her every decision along the way. Do not despair at her death; rejoice in the fact that you knew her.

Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

A celebration of life will be held at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum chapel on her birthday, October 24th, at 2:00 p.m. The Family will continue the celebration, receiving family and friends at a reception following the service at Special Touch Talent Dance Studio, 3120 Woodman Drive from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
