Steven R. Wendling

Steven R. Wendling, age 76, of Dayton, passed away on May 13, 2023. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 29, 1946, the son of the late Leroy and Agnes (Kerschner) Wendling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 52 years, Sharon Wendling; grandson, Devin Wendling; and many brothers and sisters.
Steve is survived by his loving children, Mark (Heather) Wendling, Brian (Stephanie) Wendling, Mike Wendling, Keith (Jennifer) Wendling and Staci Noury; grandchildren, Gary, Tayler, Kendra, Emma, Tristan, David and Colton; and many other loving family and friends.
Steve served his country proudly be serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from AAA after 30 years as an Accountant. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 97 for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, coaching bowling and soccer, leading Boy Scout troops and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 12:00pm, at St. Helen Parish, 605 Granville Place, Dayton. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc., 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263.
