Steven Lee Schoephoerster, "Shep", age 53, of Waynesville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
He was born on March 16, 1970 in Kettering, Ohio. During his early years, Shep delivered Dayton Daily newspapers in his neighborhood. He graduated from Fairmont High School, Class of 1988. During high school, Shep excelled at football and was awarded a scholarship to play for the Louisville Cardinals, and went on to attend the University of Cincinnati. While a Junior in high school he started working summers at Lewis and Michael Moving Co. and progressed to full time after attending college, retiring after 32 years.
Shep was preceded in death by his father, Larry Schoephoerster.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jenny Schoephoerster, his children, Tess Elizabeth Stiver, Mason Lee Schoephoerster, Brooke Alice Schoephoerster; grandchildren, Ashlynn, Tylynn, Mya, and Isla. Shep is also survived by his mother, Annamarie Schoephoerster; his sister, Tina (Scott) Shiverdecker and their family, Joel and Justin Shiverdecker; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Brad) Post and their family, Jeremy, Zack and Josh Whaley; brother-in-law, Chris (Rachel) Griffey and their family, Jaden and Memphis Griffey; along with his mother-in-law Mary Alice Pollard, and numerous loved ones and friends.
Shep enjoyed fishing, boating, 4 wheeling and being at his Lake House. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., with Pastor Joni Manson officiating.
Shep's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
