Steven Robert Prater

Prater, Steven Robert, age 32, of Vandalia, passed away December 30, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floice Kemp. Steven was a member of the S.A.L. and was a collector of Comic books. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling, especially "cruising", and loved caring for his bonsai and bamboo plants . Steven loved to laugh, was very kind and non-judgemental. He was always looking to help others. He loved life and loved to look "spiffy".

He is survived by his mother, Sherri Prater; brother, Christopher Matthews; his Mamaw and Papaw, Dorothy and Delbert Prater,Jr.; uncle Delbert Prater,III; aunt Lindy and uncle Mike Cornwell; aunt Kimmy and uncle Kent Smith; many loving cousins and their families, and his beloved dog, Charlie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Miami Valley or to the Montgomery Co. Animal Resource Center.
