Steven P. Jones, age 72 of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born April 13, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of John and Mary (Mumford) Jones.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tom Jones.
Steve was a skilled tool and die maker, employed by Delco/Delphi for over 30 years, but also put his talents to work at home making custom tools, cabinets and mechanical gadgets. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friends, tending his garden, playing the 5-string banjo, caring for his dogs and spending time with his family.
Steven is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Jones nee Arthur; sons, Steven (Diana Baker) Jones Jr., Charles (Krista Garcia) Jones, Robert (Jeanine) Jones; grandchild, Alexander Jones; three brothers, Van (Margie) Jones, Jay (David Stephany) Jones, Jeff (Linda) Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Visitation will be from 1 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton.
