Age 58, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Shaffer; his mother, Anna Hamilton; one daughter, Wendy Shaffer; one son, Brian Shaffer; four sisters and their husbands, Patricia & Bill Frappier, Joyce & Jerry Moore, Barbara & Ronald Craig and Kathy & William Collins; one brother and his wife, Charles & Shirley Hamilton; four grandchildren, Skylar, Madison, Landon and Karlee; and by two special friends, Sheila Shaffer and Dave Hanshaw.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Shaffer, when Steven was an infant and by his father, Charles Hamilton Sr, who raised him.
Steven was a U. S. Army veteran having served in Viet Nam. He was the current Commander of AMVETS Post # 33; and a life-time member and past Commander of VFW Post # 9936.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday (8/24) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
