Steve Martin

It is with great sadness that we must share the unexpected passing of Steve Martin on February 27, 2017.

Steve was a dedicated professional who went above and beyond the call each day to protect the quality and integrity of the buildings in the MVG portfolio and our customers' portfolio.

Many knew him well in the construction company as the man who knew more about roofs than likely anyone else in the region or maybe the country.

Many may not have seen or known him because he spent most of his days on the roofs of buildings that we were constructing or managing, regardless of the weather, or the risks to access, to inspect and maintain those critical parts of the building.

Steve worked for Miller-Valentine for 23 years. He was appreciated and respected by all those who had an opportunity to work with him as a part of a team of building construction professionals.

He was preceded in death by his sister Lois Patterson and brother Bobby Kon.

Steve is survived by his son Jason Martin, father Ernest (Donna) Martin, sisters Carol (Glen) Frieson, Danielle Martin, Krista Hill and Katherine Beckman.

Steve was an avid golfer, good friend, loyal employee and favorite father. He knew what he wanted out of life and strived to obtain it.

He always did what he felt was right and took care of those he loved. He was a pillar of strength, the last to ask for help but the first to give it. Steve could always make you laugh with a story or joke and would share his wisdom with anyone who needed it.

Steve was a good father, a good friend and a good man.

Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the "Jim Walsh Angel Fund".

Following the memorial service on Saturday, we will be meeting at Wings to celebrate his memory.
