Steve L. Blackburn

June 18, 1948 — July 20, 2015

Steve L. Blackburn loving husband, father, and grandfather of Miamisburg, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. He was born June 18, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio the son of George and Ruth Blackburn. He served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam receiving the National Defense Service Medal, 3 Purple Hearts, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal during his service. He was a longtime member of the Patterson Park church and instrumental in bringing many people to Christ. Steve had a long career in the automobile industry. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bryon Blackburn, and two brothers Jerry and Greg Blackburn.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Diane; daughter, Pam (Chris) Glover; two brothers, Jeff and Benny Blackburn; three grandchildren, Max, Molly, and Makynzee Glover. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). A graveside service will be Monday July 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Dayton National Cemetery will full military honors. If preferred donations may be made to One Bistro (Community Kitchen for the hungry) where Steve volunteered his time and services (110 S. 2nd Street, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342)
