Stephen Joseph Plaisted

Stephen Joseph Plaisted, 83, of Centerville, Ohio departed this life on March 9, 2025.

Steve was born in Meredith, New Hampshire in September of 1941 and raised in nearby Moultonborough, New Hampshire.

Growing up, Steve enjoyed multiple sports including: skiing, basketball, baseball, tennis, sailing, and football. Additionally, Steve excelled at ballroom dancing.

During his school years in New Hampshire he developed great interest in aircraft and aviation. After graduation from Laconia High School in Laconia, NH he attended Parks College of Saint Louis University where he earned his degree in aeronautical engineering

In 1963 Steve began what developed into a remarkable 42-year Civil Service career with the United States Air Force. He began his career at McClellan Air Force Base in California, but spent the majority of his career working at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. His outstanding capabilities, dedication, and leadership lead him to a great variety of positions at the base. Steve passionately dedicated his life to serving his country.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Colby Plaisted and Leonard M. Plaisted, brother Roderick Plaisted and his wife Dorothy, and brother Richard Plaisted and his wife Gloria. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Andrea, daughter Laura Plaisted (Chad Montgomery) and beloved grandson Theodore “Teddy” Montgomery as well as his sister, Judith (Gary) Haracz, brother George Plaisted and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
