Stephen Garner

Stephen B. Garner, age 67 of Miamisburg, passed away June 22, 2014. He was born January 8, 1947 in Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his father, Karl Garner; mother, Juanita Gilbert; and aunt, Lois Williams.

Steve is survived by his children: Richard (Lynn) Wonderly, Kimberly Moen, Stephen Garner, II and Lynn Kesson; 7 grandchildren; sister, Karleen (Bill) Thayer; brother, Dirk Garner; cousin, Pat Williams; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Vietnam; member of the American Legion Post 165, West Carrollton Lodge # 737 F.&A.M., and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church; life member of Local 175 AFL-CIO; and retired from DP&L after 43 years of service.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Boulevard. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Road, Dayton. Pastor John Mittermaier officiating. Graveside service to follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Blanchester. Contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church or to The Hospice of Dayton.
