Stephen Curtis Faris, "Steve," age 74 of Dayton, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at his home with his wife, Paula, by his side. He was born January 9, 1949 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde and Catherine Faris.
Steve enjoyed a successful career, progressing from computer programming to upper management and project management roles. He took pride in his work and found life-long friendship with many of his colleagues. He will long be remembered for his quick wit and compassion. An avid sports fan, Steve will also be remembered for his loyalty to the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Steve was himself an athlete, and enjoyed long-distance running, basketball, football, baseball, and tennis. A proud Eagle scout, he found peace in the great outdoors, and fervently believed that one should always leave a place in a better condition than that in which it was found. In this, as in countless other ways, he led by example.
Steve is survived by his wife of nearly 33 years, Paula; children, Jason (Jaimey Hamilton Faris) Faris, Ryan (Rachael) Faris, Megan Faris (Bakr Younis), and their mother, Sharon Switzer; 7 grandchildren, Miles, Simon, Sophia, Alexis, Mohammad, Wafa, Suleiman; brothers, Ricky (Vickie) Faris and Gary (Jennifer) Faris; mother-in-law, Louise Amos; sister-in-law, Ferrie Webb; as well as numerous loving relatives and many co-workers and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 1 pm - 2 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, OH 45459). A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 pm.
