Stella Louise (nee Sloane) Hoskins-Cook, age 68 of Centerville, passed away May 17, 2022. She was born July 11, 1953 in Whitesburg, KY to her parents, Odell Sr. and Margaret Jean (nee Sturgill) Sloane. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret; first husband, Charles Douglas Hoskins; brother, Odell Sloane, Jr.; sister-in-law, Mindy Sloane; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Maxeline Sturgill; paternal grandmother, Nancy Gibson; and paternal great grandmother, Georgeann Strong (a Cherokee Native American).
She is survived by her daughter, Aime Louise Boyd; son, Jeffrey Lane Cook; grandchild, Audrey Louise Boyd; father, Odell Sloane, Sr.; sister and dear friend, Linda Baker Staub; nieces and nephews, Brock Smith, Emily Smith, Benjamin Smith and Wyatt Baker; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Stella enjoyed spending time with close family and friends, reading, crocheting, gardening, and had a deep love for animals. Her passion was taking care of her kids and her one and only granddaughter with whom she had the great pleasure of living with for the first five years of Audrey's life. She had fun attending any country concert that would roll into town. She was a member of The National Honor Society, J.C.O.W.A., and a cheerleader during her time at Kiser High School, which she graduated from in 1971. She loved working in the secretarial field of vocations learning ShortHand writing during her time at W.P.A.F.B.. Her jobs at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, D.E.S.C. in Kettering, and Clark Processing, then turned Perma-Fix Dayton, Inc., show she found her calling in being a typist, head receptionist, accounts receiveable/payable clerk, and bookkeeper. She was well liked and loved by all who knew her. Stella will be deeply missed and held in our hearts for eternity.
A private viewing and service will be held at the convenience of the family. A private burial will take place at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens.
