Stella Ruth Carter

Stella Ruth Carter, age 97 of Dayton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Elmcroft of Washington Township. She was born on October 13, 1923 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Van and Lillie Parks. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Carter; precious son, Donald; and four siblings, Harold, Clyde, Lucille, and Bill.

Stella is survived by her brother, Earl Parks and sister, Johnnie Honeycutt. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was devoted to her faith and a strong member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church. Stella was a high school graduate and worked as a telephone operator and an engineering clerk for Ohio Bell. She was a beautiful singer and enjoyed being in the church choir. Stella loved her family and most enjoyed being a caregiver. She is well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on October 6, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Funeral Service will be officiated by Terrel Hudson and Tom Vorhis following the visitation at 11:00 am.
