Stanley Smith

Stanley Smith, age 80 of Medway, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010. He was born July 27, 1930 in Blue Diamond, KY to the late Charlie and Maggie Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Edsel Smith; and sister, Ruby May.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 55 years, Opal Smith; children: Linda Dellinger (Scott), Chuck Smith (Mavis), Kimila Bachand (Bob) and Mark Smith (Mary); grandchildren: Kristi Ryles, Tabitha Dellinger, Andy and Chuck Smith, Jessica and Robert Beeman, Matthew and Mark Smith; 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Hazel Blackburn, Arnold Smith, Joyce Bingham and Virgil Smith; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Stanley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Korean War and retiring from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after many years of service. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason.

Visitation will be held from 5- 8 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Air Force.
