CRABTREE, Stanley Edkar, 79, of Kettering, passed away October 26, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Avonelle Erler Crabtree; parents, William Ellis and Mary Margaret (Lambert) Crabtree; 5 brothers; 2 sisters and one niece Peggy JoAnne Ellis. He is survived by his daughter, Tanya M. Favorite of Kettering; 2 sons, Hugh Timothy Pierson (Vannessa Wilson) of Dayton, Terence F. Crabtree of Kettering and 1 brother, Lemon Arnold Crabtree of Jackson, OH. He is also survived by his grandson, Daniel Shane Mancini and his wife Misty of GA, and 3 granddaughters, Tricia M. Favorite (Adam Manning), Traci L. Favorite-Sylwestrak and her husband Danny and Samantha Jo Baker. He worked as a glazier for Dayton Reliable Glass, Robertson Glass and for the Dayton Board of Education from October 5, 1964 until he retired April 30, 1991. Stanley was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army Air Corps and a founding member of World Wings Flying Association. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 598, American Legion Post 9927, Amvets and the Shamrock Club. He was known as Papaw by all the kids and was a very special man, who will be sorely missed by all. Fly High Pop! We Salute You! Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Monday, November 1, 2004 at Newcomer Farley Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until 5:00PM Sunday, October 31, 2004. Interment will be at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for expenses.
