Sonny B. Herbert

Herbert, Sonny B. passed away May 30, 2016 at Kettering Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Sonny was born in Beckley, WV on September 24, 1933 to the late William and Goldie Herbert.

Sonny's love for cars led him to his career as an auto mechanic. He worked for Shell Oil Company at the training service station on Far Hills Ave. as a station manager. He was also a service station owner until his retirement. Sonny was a very proud member of the U.S. Army where he served in Korea as a motor pool leader and instructor.

Proceeding in death in addition to his parents, sisters, Garnet, Virginia and Betty; brothers, Charlie and William A.; his loving son, Randy who passed away in August, 2015. Sonny will be sadly missed by his wife, Gloria; son, Steve; granddaughter, Brittany (Brian); great grandson, Tanner; and the Light of his life, great granddaughter, Harper. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at David's Cemetery thereafter.
